A bleeding

For imagery
Would ne’er portray
The sorrows weight
From eyes that wept

Only days from this moment
The blankness of the stares
Of questions why

The watershed
Rivers will part
And sides beget
With ignorant hearts

By mirrors
With no signs of imperfection
The swayed mass in awe

Like daggers
Words like venom infect
An eulogy for hope

The polish will wither and cracks will appear
Nothing
Will mend the surface of perfection
Degenerating
One victim at a time

I am the stain that doesn’t wash away
I am the crack that will not hide
I am the scar on your face
I am the guilty conscience
That never was

Time is not an allied
For eyes open wide
There is a pattern to the madness
There is a light which vaguely shines

Explain to me what introspection is
Explain to me what reflection means
Explain to me why there are
Two sides to each tale

Once for every victim
Once for every fate
Once for every blame
Of morale turned ashen gray
